Purpose: To provide details of land and property assets which are no longer required by the Council for operational or other purposes and to declare these assets surplus so they may be repurposed or disposed of as appropriate.

Content: To provide details of land and property assets which are no longer required by the Council for operational or other purposes and to declare these assets surplus so they may be repurposed or disposed of as appropriate. Agreed (i) - That Cabinet approves that the assets, as listed in Section 3.5 of the report submitted, can be considered surplus. Agreed (ii) - That, subject to (i) above, Cabinet delegates authority to the Corporate Director of Housing, Regeneration & Operations, in consultation with, the Leader of the Council and Cabinet Member for Transport, Infrastructure and Regeneration, to: 1)          agree the detailed terms for the repurposing, appropriation, transfer or other disposal of the sites listed in this report at the appropriate time, including marketing the same for disposal where this option is deemed appropriate, considering any representations received; 2)          to advertise any intended disposal in accordance with the requirements of s123(2A)  Local Government Act 1972 where an asset is designated public open space; 3)          consider any objections or representations received to the intended transfers, disposals, appropriations and/or alternative uses including those received (if any) following any advertisement under (ii) 2) above. 4)          Undertake and/or permit any site investigations; to market assets for disposal and regeneration as appropriate; and enter into any relevant legal agreements. Subject in each case to undertaking appropriate legal due diligence on each site.
